This will be a special screening because the filmmaker John Bradburn was the author of the article that inspired us to create a film series that was akin to DIY punk shows and touring.

Read the article here on Ted Hope’s Truly Free Film blog:

http://trulyfreefilm.hopeforfilm.com/2010/05/film-gigging-towards-a-lo-fi-film-circuit.html

We’ll open doors at 7:30 and probably start around 8:00-8:30 or as people file in.

There will be a 5 dollar suggested donation as well as cheap beer.

Although John is in the UK, we will be having him Skype in to answer questions and talk to attendees. Come mingle, meet some great people, watch some really great films and most of all have a fun time.

If you would like to submit work to be screened, like to use our space for test screenings or other events please feel free to contact us at FeteFilms@gmail.com

Synopsis:
Sam, a mysterious stranger, arrives in town to exact revenge on the men who wronged him when he was only a child. He encounters Louisa, a prostitute who dreams of a better life. Meanwhile, Dennis, the town’s lawman, is familiar with Sam’s past and makes it his personal duty to stop him before the violence escalates.

Praise/Awards for the film:

WINNER: “Best Student Film” at Royal Flush Festival ‘09
WINNER: “Best More Than Horror Short” at Buffalo Screams Horror Festival ‘10

• “Nothing short of a miracle…Not since Robert Evans became THE FIEND WHO WALKED THE WEST has anyone put together such a retro Horror Western…David Guglielmo as a director is well on his way to the planet of the auteurs with DAMN YOUR EYES… I for one cannot wait to see the full length version of this film.” - David Del Valle, Author (Lost Horizons Beneath The Hollywood Sign)

• “Nothing wrong with Grindhouse meeting Western head on with a six shooter in each hand…What will it cost? Just 18 minutes of your time… Does it get better any better than that?” - FilmSchoolRejects.com

THE ANIMALMEN
director: Jarrett DePasquale

Trailer
http://vimeo.com/18688775

Praise:
“The Animalmen, a charming short with its own vivid color scheme and sense of humor, shows the lasting influence of the French New Wave. Understandably affected by the 1967 La Chinoise, Jarrett DePasquale adapts its bemused view of youth and politics to the emotional and political aspirations of a new generation of indie-pop listening American kids. Proof that some romances never grow old.”-Armond White

Dylan has written an exciting piece for the Creator’s Project on the future of cinematic display: interactive multi-screen installations, novel video interface designs and new narratives.

We’re a little late to this, but after Google’ing my name today, I found a link to a Huffington Post article from last September that neither of us had seen! As avid readers, we’re both pretty surprised to have missed this, but are very excited to be featured!

Book and letterpress artist Amanda Thackray, whose shorts “Mending Tears” and “Old Lime” were screened at Fete #1, has returned to school for an MFA at RISD where her well-attended final critique brought a celebrity or two, including the always buzz-worthy James Franco. Here is the accompanying poorly shot paparazzi picture. We’re looking forward to her future work and maybe a name drop by Franco!

The amazing Kristina Centore, who screened her stop-motion short “Young Lives” at Fete #1, has produced this new, awesomely creepy stop-motion animation short, “Pup”. We love her and her style. Keep up with Kristina at her new blog site: http://iamhalfahuman.blogspot.com/

We’ve decided to move away from the Facebook Group pages and onto the Fan Page (more features, better URL, we like “like”). If you’ve already joined our Facebook group or haven’t yet joined us on the Internet, please check us out on Facebook and become a fan for more updates, events, news and more!
